Nvidia and SK Group sign $500 billion-plus AI factory and memory partnership

SK Group and Nvidia announced on July 24, 2026 a strategic partnership valued at more than $500 billion, formalized through letters of intent covering both AI infrastructure buildout and memory supply. SK Telecom, the conglomerate's telecom and cloud arm, will construct a 2-gigawatt AI cloud facility in South Korea built on Nvidia's DSX full-stack AI factory architecture and powered by Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin accelerated computing platform, with the first facility targeted to begin operating in 2027. Separately, Nvidia and SK hynix agreed to a long-term partnership to secure and co-develop next-generation AI memory, including HBM4, locking in supply for Nvidia's future GPU generations while giving SK hynix a guaranteed customer for its highest-margin product line. SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won said the alliance would let the conglomerate “build a world-class AI factory” by combining SK hynix's memory with SK Telecom's infrastructure, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang framed it as powering “Korea's next wave of growth.” The deal is the latest in a string of multi-hundred-billion-dollar infrastructure commitments Nvidia has struck this year, and it lands just two days after Nvidia separately discussed a roughly $250 billion financing guarantee for OpenAI's Ohio data center campus, underscoring how central Nvidia has become to underwriting the AI buildout on both sides of the Pacific.
