Google releases three new Gemini models but still no Gemini 3.5 Pro

Google released three new Gemini models, according to its own blog and TechCrunch, expanding its lineup with cheaper, faster options even as its flagship Gemini 3.5 Pro remains unavailable to the general public. Gemini 3.6 Flash offers stronger coding, knowledge work, and multimodal performance while consuming 17 percent fewer output tokens than its predecessor, priced at 1.50 dollars per million input tokens and 7.50 dollars per million output tokens, and is available immediately through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, and Google Antigravity. Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite is optimized for agentic workflows and is now the fastest model in the 3.5 family, delivering 350 output tokens per second according to the Artificial Analysis Index, and is rolling out across the Gemini app, Google Search, Google AI Studio, and the Gemini Enterprise app. The third model, Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, is specialized for finding, validating, and fixing software vulnerabilities through CodeMender, Google's code security agent, positioning it as a direct rival to Anthropic's Mythos security model, though access is currently restricted to governments and trusted partners through a limited pilot program. Google says Gemini 3.5 Pro remains in testing with partners and will be made broadly available once ready, but offered no specific timeline, extending a delay that has already drawn scrutiny from investors and rivals alike.
