Meta workers sue over AI driven layoffs, say the system ignored medical and family leave

Twenty six current and former Meta employees filed a federal lawsuit alleging the company used AI systems, including metrics like token consumption, to decide who to cut in its May layoffs, and that the system disproportionately targeted workers on medical, parental, or family leave. Meta says the decisions were made by people, not AI.
