ASML, the Dutch company that makes the lithography machines chipmakers depend on to produce advanced semiconductors, raised its full year 2026 sales guidance for the second time this year, according to CNBC. The company reported second quarter net sales of 9.33 billion euros and net income of 2.92 billion euros, both ahead of analyst estimates, and now expects 2026 net sales of 43 billion to 45 billion euros with a gross margin of 54 to 56 percent, up from its previous guidance of 36 billion to 40 billion euros in sales and a 51 to 53 percent margin. ASML also said it intends to expand capacity by 30 percent in each of the next two years for both its flagship extreme ultraviolet tools and its deep ultraviolet tools used for less advanced chips, including those built for customers in China. Chief executive Christophe Fouquet said order intake for the company's highest end machines remained extremely strong through the first half of the year, with demand expected to stay high as chipmakers continue expanding production capacity to keep pace with AI driven demand for advanced semiconductors.
